100 of Sunday’s cases are Maharashtra returnees

Neighbouring Maharashtra was yet again a bugbear for Karnataka, with most of Sunday’s 130 new Covid-19 cases being returnees from that state. Karnataka’s tally has now breached the 2,000 mark.
The state health department said the break-up is now 2,056 positive cases, including 654 discharges, 1,391 active cases and 42 deaths.
Of Sunday’s cases, 100 had returned from Maharashtra, of whom 41 are women.
Two of Sunday’s cases have a travel history to Dubai and the United Kingdom.
The break-up for Sunday is: 27 from Chikkaballapur, 24 from Yadagiri, 23 from Udupi, 15 from Mandya, 14 from Hassan, six each from Kalaburagi and Bidar, four from Davangere, two each from Tumakuru, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada, and one each from Kodagu, Vijayapura, Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru Urban and Dharwad.
