Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that the Justice D.C. Kunha Commission Report, related to the RCB victory stampede incident, has been submitted today and will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting on July 17, after which a final decision will be made.
Speaking to the media at Vidhana Soudha, Siddaramaiah explained that the one-man commission led by retired Justice D.C. Kunha, which was established to investigate the tragic stampede that resulted in 11 deaths, has submitted its report in two volumes.
Answering media queries, Siddaramaiah said, “I have not yet read the full report. The Cabinet will deliberate on the findings and recommendations and take a decision accordingly.”
Regarding the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) order opposing the suspension of police officers involved in the incident, Siddaramaiah confirmed that this issue, including any references in the Kunha report, will be addressed during the cabinet discussion.
The CM assured that the government would carefully review the commission’s recommendations before making a final decision.
