Israel, S.Africa face off at UN top court in Gaza genocide case

A top U.N. court will begin hearings on Thursday in a case brought by South Africa against Israel, which it accuses of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Proceedings on whether or not genocide actually occurred in Gaza could take years, but this week’s hearings focus on South Africa’s demand that the court order emergency measures, including a suspension of military action in Gaza.
