Bengaluru: With the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches set to begin from tomorrow, Karnataka Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials and representatives of the Karnataka State Cricket Association to review safety and preparedness measures in the city.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed in detail the security arrangements inside and around the stadium to ensure the safety of cricket fans. She also assessed traffic management plans, parking arrangements, availability of drinking water, and other essential facilities within the stadium premises.
Officials briefed her on anticipated passenger density in the Namma Metro, revised metro schedules, and additional security deployments at metro stations. Emphasising the importance of crowd management, she directed authorities to remain vigilant and ensure that no untoward incident, however minor, occurs during the tournament.
Shalini Rajneesh instructed all departments to strictly adhere to government-mandated safety guidelines and precautionary measures for conducting IPL matches. She further directed that all concerned agencies remain on high alert and maintain continuous coordination through regular information sharing.
The meeting was attended by officials from KSCA, representatives of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the City Police Commissioner, GBA Chief Commissioner, Managing Director of Namma Metro, and heads of various relevant departments.
