Bengaluru: A shocking incident in the Vyalikaval area of central Bengaluru nearly turned tragic when a family attempted to ship an elderly man as a ‘human parcel’ to protest rising bus fares ahead of the Ugadi and Eid festivals. The family, which included a woman, her husband, her mother-in-law, and her brother-in-law, later admitted that the act was a pre-planned stunt intended for social media. The elderly man, the woman’s father, was placed inside a large gunny sack for the performance.
The situation escalated when courier staff opened the package and discovered the visibly distressed man gasping for air. They immediately alerted the Vyalikaval police, who arrived to find a scene of confusion and alarm.
