Cyber fraudsters create fake portal in the name of Bannerghatta Biological Park

Date:

BENGALURU:Cyber fraudsters are now targeting Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru. The scammers created a fake portal  https://bannerghattanationalpark.org to deceive people by claiming to offer ticket bookings for the zoo and safari and also entry to the butterfly park.

The fake website shows a link for donation to make payments @banbanjara.com that redirects to a page claiming to be the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

However, no tourists have reported being cheated so far. However, during a website inspection, the fake website was detected. It was found that tickets for the Bannerghatta Zoo and safari had been booked through the fake website, and the payment of Rs 2,000 had been made from a personal account.

To avoid falling prey to such scams, the Executive Director of Bannerghatta Biological Park, Suryasen, has requested visitors to access only the official website https://bannerghattanationalpark.org/ for online ticket bookings.

A complaint has been filed against the online scammers at the Bannerghatta police station and further investigation is under way.
