Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Tuesday announced that the kidnap and murder of an Anekal-based real estate developer whose body was found in neighbouring Tamil Nadu has been handed over to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for a detailed probe.
Responding during Zero Hour in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly to a question raised by Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar, the Home Minister said the police had already taken initial action in the case. โOne person has been arrested and a search is underway to trace the other suspects,โ he informed the House.
Parameshwara said that based on the preliminary report received from the police, he had directed that the investigation be transferred to the CID, which will now conduct a comprehensive probe into the crime.

MLA Demands Justice
MLA Pradeep Eshwar had earlier urged the government to transfer the case to the CID and ensure justice for the victimโs family. He told the Assembly that one accused has been arrested while two suspects are still absconding, and demanded that they be apprehended at the earliest.
Film-Style Kidnap Near Bengaluru
According to police, the victim, real estate developer Gopal alias Gopi from Anekal, was abducted in a dramatic, film-style kidnapping incident on Sunday near Karpura Gate in Anekal taluk.
Police said Gopal and his friend Satish were travelling by car from Attibele towards Anekal when the kidnappers intercepted the vehicle and abducted him.
Investigators later found his body on Monday in a forested area near Denkanikottai in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. Police said the victim was attacked with sharp weapons and murdered after being taken to the remote forest location.
The CID is expected to investigate the cross-border crime, the motive behind the abduction, and the involvement of additional suspects, as the case has triggered concern across the Bengaluru-Tamil Nadu border region.
