Bengaluru South rep pays BBP Rs 2.75 lakh for upkeep of his ‘adoptees’

Days after thebengalurulive carried the appeal of Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) for funds, Bengaluru South MLA M Krishnappa adopted two animals, an elephant and a tiger.
On Saturday, Krishnappa visited the zoo on the outskirts of Bengaluru and paid an amount of Rs. 2.75 lakh to adopt 17-year-old elephant Nisarga and 18-month-old tigress Hima.
Kushalappa, Deputy conservator of forest, BPP said: “We are grateful to these donors for joining hands to support ex-situ conservation at Bannerghatta Biological Park and for ‘Speaking for those without a Voice’.”
The following donors also adopted animals:
T Narayana and Mrs Lalitha, BBMP corporator, Gottigere adopted tiger Rajendra by paying Rs 1 lakh
MC Raju, Jigani, adopted tiger Gokul by paying Rs 1 lakh
M Jayaram, Chunchughatta, Bengaluru, adopted leopard Lokesh by paying Rs 35,000.
M Subramani, Chunchughatta, Bengaluru, adopted leopard Ashoka by paying Rs 35,000
Sardar Sharyar Khan adopted tiger Sanjay for 6 months by paying Rs 50,000
K Somshekar, Anjanapur, adopted a zebra by paying Rs 50,000
