A city-based techie has turned out to be the first Covid-19 positive case in Bengaluru. He had returned from the US on March 1.
Announcing this at a media conference on Monday, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said the 40-year-old techie, his wife, child and one of his colleagues are under supervision at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, where he was admitted on March 5. The techie?s driver, and the driver’s wife and two children — one whom is a PUC student ? are being supervised separately. Furthermore, the techie?s co-passengers are being traced.
The techie had travelled from Austin to New York on February 27, from New York to Dubai on February 28, and reached Bengaluru via Dubai on March 1.
ANGANWADIS SHUT
Children under the age of 10 have low immunity, so as a precautionary measure Anganwadi centres have been shut from March 10 to 17. The decision was taken by the Department of Women and Child Welfare.
