Home Minister Bommai says serious questions on explosives raised by the incident
CHIKKABALLAPUR:
Following the gelatin blast which took six lives in Chikkaballapur district on Tuesday, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has referred the case for investigation to the CID wing of the Karnataka police.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bommai and Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar had visited the scene of the blast.
Sources said the FSL team had identified a petroleum gel-like material at the blast site. It is thought that the blast could have occurred while the explosive material was being transported in crates.
Speaking to the media at the blast site, Bommai said, “The government has taken the case seriously. From where did the explosives come? Who brought it? Were these explosives licensed or not? The answers to these need to be found.”
