BENGALURU:
A Central team will visit the state on September 7 to assess the rain and flood damage. The 6-member team will be led by senior officer KV Pratap.
State Revenue Minister R Ashoka said the team will meet Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on September 7, and will visit different district centres on September 8.
“We will have a discussion with the Central team on September 9 and will request the release of Rs 4,800 crore in relief aid,” Ashoka said.
The minister said he would visit Kodagu, Belagavi, Bagalkot and Vijayapura districts.
“The Central government has already released Rs 395 crore. We had sought 9 teams of NDRF personnel and they have been deployed in flood-affected districts,” he said.
