Case against Belthangadi MLA Harish Poonja | Karnataka High Court issues notice to provide speech CD

In relation to the ongoing case against MLA Harish Poonja, the court has requested the submission of a CD containing his speech.

The High Court has instructed the plaintiffs involved in the case to provide a video CD of the statement made by Belthangadi MLA Harish Poonja. This statement is part of the criminal case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is accused of delivering an offensive and inflammatory speech.

During the hearing of the criminal petition filed by Harish Poonja, a single-member bench led by Justice M. Nagaprasanna, it was revealed that a First Information Report (FIR) had been registered against him at the Beltadi police station. The petitioner requested that the inquiry be conducted in the special court for people’s representatives.

In the meantime, B. Latif, the advocate representing the plaintiff, has requested a two-week extension to file an objection. The case has been adjourned with the next hearing scheduled for December 8.
