BMRCL Enhances Security Measures with Advanced CCTV Surveillance and AI Integration at Six Stations

Date:

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has recently implemented a state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance system at six stations between Baiyappanahalli and MG Road. This new system is designed to provide comprehensive perimeter monitoring and utilize AI-driven technology to detect potential threats, ensuring a safer commuting experience for passengers.

The advanced surveillance system, which was officially launched on May 6, goes beyond monitoring just the station interiors. It also includes continuous surveillance of the surrounding areas to enhance situational awareness for metro authorities. A significant feature of this upgrade is the integration of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, which captures and analyzes vehicle number plates in front of metro stations. By combining this technology with AI-based video analytics, the system can identify potential threats, anomalies, and suspicious activities in real-time, thereby strengthening security measures along the metro corridor.

The introduction of AI-powered surveillance and ANPR technology enables us to monitor station environments proactively, swiftly detect threats, and ensure a safer, more secure metro network for Bengaluru. This initiative underscores our dedication to operational excellence and public safety.”

This deployment is in line with BMRCL’s mission to incorporate intelligent systems that not only enhance operational efficiency but also instill a sense of security among metro commuters. As Bengaluru’s metro network continues to expand, BMRCL remains committed to integrating smart surveillance technologies that improve the commuter experience and reinforce public safety throughout the entire metro system.
