Bengaluru, March 8: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has revealed that a staggering ₹33.89 crore in property tax arrears remains unpaid across the five city corporations. This information was disclosed by Special Commissioner (Revenue) Munish Moudgil.
Of the total pending amount, ₹14,26,65,515 is owed by 510 major property tax defaulters, while an additional ₹19,62,81,400 is associated with 500 unresolved property tax revision and arrear correction cases.
In response to the growing arrears, the five city corporations under GBA are intensifying their scrutiny of significant defaulters and outstanding tax revision matters. Special Commissioner Moudgil emphasized that the joint commissioners of the respective zones have been directed to expedite recovery efforts, particularly targeting large defaulters and pending revision cases.
To enhance transparency and encourage accountability, the GBA has published a list of the top 50 major defaulters and the pending revision cases for each city corporation on its website.
Authorities are urging property owners with outstanding taxes to address their dues promptly to prevent any potential legal actions or enforcement measures.
