Bengalureans violating night curfew as some hotels stay open after 10 pm, says Gaurav Gupta
BENGALURU:
BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Tuesday requested office-bearers of the Bruhat Bangalore Hotels Association to ensure that all hotels in the city follow Covid protocols in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Speaking at a virtual meeting with hotel association office-bearers regarding controlling the spread of the virus in BBMP limits, he urged every hotel in the city to join hands with BBMP so that the spread of Covid can be curbed.
‘Isolate infected staff’
Awareness must be raised among hotel chefs, servers, staff and customers regarding the usage of masks, maintaining social distance and following the rules. Hotel staff must undergo Covid tests regularly. If any of the staff is infected, the person should be isolated immediately in order to prevent the virus from spreading further, the Chief Commissioner said.

Cops to monitor curfew
The night curfew is in place in the city from 10 pm to 5 am. However, since some hotels continue to function post 10 pm, citizens are also out in public places, he noted. In this regard, a meeting has been conducted with the police department to make sure the night curfew is followed by all, the Chief Commissioner said.
