Ayyappa devotees to enter Sabarimala from Saturday

Only worshippers with virtual passes and Covid-negative certificates can have God’s darshan

BENGALURU:

In the wake of the Malayalam month of Kumbham and for the monthly pooja, Ayyappa devotees will be allowed from Saturday only if they have valid passes obtained through the virtual queue.

The Travancore Devaswom Board’s PRO Sunil Arumanoor said in a press release: “In connection with the Kumbham monthly pooja, the Thirunada of God Ayyappa will be opened on the 12th evening of this month. Devotees will have permission to enter Sabarimala from the13th morning onwards.”

5,000 allowed per day

He added: “Only Ayyappa devotees who have booked a ticket through the virtual queue will be allowed to enter Sabarimala during this Kumbham month’s poojas. 5,000 devotees will be allowed to enter Sabarimala every day. Anyone who does not get a pass through the virtual queue will not be allowed to enter the Sabarimala Ayyappa Darsanam.”

Ayyappa devotees must keep in hand a negative certificate of Covid-19 RT-PCR/RT Lamp/Experts Nat test conducted within the past 48 hours. The Thirunada of God Ayyappa will be closed on 17th February.
