At the time of the accident, there were 20 people present. Four managed to escape, while 13 bodies have been recovered. The remaining individuals are currently under investigation. Is there anyone trapped in the neighbouring building? Has anyone sought shelter elsewhere? It is crucial to exercise caution as there are firecrackers stored in the adjacent building, which poses additional danger. The police have advised opening the door with utmost care, DCM said.
A comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the cause of this tragedy. The owner of the premises was also injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. We are examining whether fire prevention regulations were followed and identifying any potential loopholes, he said.
The accident resulted in significant disruption to vehicular traffic on both sides of the Bangalore-Chennai route. A traffic jam ensued. However, Shivakumar assured that the traffic has now been cleared, and the flow is smooth.
