BENGALURU:
The number of containment zones in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits is increasing day by day. As of Monday, 484 containment zones have been identified as per BBMP war room data, of which 440 are ‘active’ zones.
There is particular concern over the Covid infection rate of 32 % among persons with symptoms of ILI and SARI.
The number of coronavirus infections in Bengaluru has risen to 1,405. Currently, there are 965 active cases while 378 have been cured and discharged, and 65 have died. The fatality rate in Bengaluru is now a worrying 5 %.
As per the BBMP war room bulletin, more than 77,409 people have been tested in Bengaluru, and of these the positive rate is around 1.81%. In the 484 containment zones, active cases are 73% and recoveries around 27%. As of Monday, 142 more containment zones have been categorised as ‘active’ zones by BBMP.
