Bengaluru: Karnataka has secured the 3rd position at the IndiaSkills 2025-26 National Competition held at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, marking a strong performance in the country’s premier skill-based contest.
The state was represented by 48 competitors across 32 skill categories and earned a total of 29 honors, finishing behind Odisha and Tamil Nadu. The achievements spanned across diverse domains including cloud computing, cybersecurity, mechatronics, additive manufacturing, bakery, and visual merchandising.
Capt. Kaustav Nath, state official and mentor for Team Karnataka, termed the achievement as a stepping stone and emphasized the need for further improvement. He stated that while the team has demonstrated immense talent, there is a need to aim higher and reclaim the top position in future competitions.

He also expressed gratitude to Skill Development and Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, along with senior officials EV Ramanna Reddy, Manoj Kumar Meena (IAS), HN Gopala Krishna, and Sumathi B S for their continuous support and guidance.
Students trained under the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) played a key role in the achievement, winning a total of 29 medals, including 10 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze, and 7 medallions for excellence.
The medal winners will now undergo advanced training to compete for selection to represent India at the WorldSkills International competition scheduled in Shanghai, China. The state government has assured world-class infrastructure and mentorship to support their preparation.
