271 new cases on Friday take state total to 6,516
BENGALURU:
The coronavirus death toll continues to rise in the state, with seven people succumbing on Friday, including 4 in Bengaluru, 2 in Kalaburagi and 1 in Hassan district. That takes the total number of deaths in Karnataka to 79.
The health department bulletin lists the deaths as:
“P-5321 (61 years, female patient, resident of Bengaluru Urban district. Diagnosed as ILI, known case of HTN, DM & CLD. She was admitted on 06.06.2020 at designated hospital, Bengaluru Urban. Died on 12.06.2020).”
“P-6370 (65 years, female patient, resident of Bengaluru Urban district. Diagnosed as SARI, complained of cough and breathlessness, known case of HTN & DM. She was admitted on 10.06.2020 at designated hospital, Bengaluru Urban. Died on 11.06.2020).”
“P-6376 (52 years, male patient, resident of Bengaluru Urban district. Diagnosed as SARI, complained of breathlessness. He was admitted on 10.06.2020 at designated hospital, Bengaluru Urban. Died on 11.06.2020).”
“P-6394 (49 years, female patient, resident of Bengaluru Urban district. Diagnosed as ILI, complained of fever and cough, known case of HTN. She was admitted on 10.06.2020 at designated hospital, Bengaluru Urban. Died on 11.06.2020).”
“P-6323 (53 years, male patient, resident of Kalaburagi district. Diagnosed as SARI, known case of DM. He was admitted on 09.06.2020 at designated hospital, Kalaburagi. Died on 10.06.2020).”
“P-6325 (48 years, male patient, resident of Kalaburagi district. Diagnosed as SARI, known case of HTN & CKD. He was admitted on 09.06.2020 at designated hospital, Kalaburagi. Died on 10.06.2020).”
“P-6307 (60 years, male patient, resident of Hassan district. Diagnosed as SARI, known case of DM, COPD & CVA. He was admitted on 11.06.2020 at designated hospital, Hassan. Died on 12.06.2020).”
On Friday, 271 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, with the number of infected people in the state swelling to 6,516.
The recovery rate is better in Karnataka than in other states, with 464 people discharged in the last 24 hours. There are now 2,995 active cases and 19 in ICUs.
Of the 271 newly diagnosed infections, 92 have a history of inter-state travel and 14 have a history of foreign travel.
Friday’s case count is: Bellary 97, Bengaluru 36, Udupi 22, Kalaburgi 20, Dharwad 19, Dakshina Kannada 17, Bidar 10, Hassan 9, Mysuru 9, Tumkur 7, Shivamogga 6, Raichur 4, Uttara Kannada 4, Chitradurga 3, Ramanagara 3, Mandya 2, and Belagavi, Vijayapura and Kolar one each.
