BENGALURU:
Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner KB Sivakumar said around 29 students have been found Covid-19 positive at a private nursing school and most of them are asymptomatic.
“We have been doing random sampling. We have found few students from other states to have contracted Covid at a private nursing school,” he told reporters here.
The district administration has sealed the hostel premises and the samples of primary and secondary contacts of the infected students are being tested, to curb the spread of the virus, Sivakumar said.
The Karnataka government has issued fresh Covid guidelines announcing an area with three cases will be considered a cluster. Previously, it was 10 cases.
It has also asked educational institutes to suspend functions and festivals till January 15 next.
As many as 397 new Covid cases, 277 recoveries and 4 deaths, were reported in the state yesterday. There are 7,012 active cases, as per the health department.
