2 out of 656 NRI returnees test positive

Out of 656 NRIs who landed at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and the Maldives on Friday and Saturday, only two had Covid-19 symptoms and were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi hospital. 

On Friday, 108 Indians arrived from Kuala Lumpur, 182 from Doha and 152 from Male in the Maldives. From the Male arrivals, 2 were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

On Saturday, 214 NRIs arrived at KIA from Jakarta.  

Bangalore Rural District Deputy Commissioner PN Ravindra said, “Health checks were done on 656 passengers, of whom two from Male, the Maldives were detected with symptoms of the coronavirus and sent to the  Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. The others were sent to 14-day government quarantine.”
