BENGALURU:
In a move to help farmers during the lockdown, the government has decided to speed up an old proposal to establish 12 new markets around Bengaluru city. Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan has decided to fast-track the project.
Narayan, who is also in charge of supply for essential goods, revealed this during a presser and said the government is aiming to provide a better market for farmers and fruit sellers.
The state government has directed the Bengaluru Urban deputy commissioner to identify land for the purpose at 50% guidance value.
