A factor before the court is that students in containment zones will not be able to step out
BENGALURU:
The Karnataka High Court has asked the state government to reconsider its decision to conduct the CET, scheduled for July 30 and August 1, in view of the prevailing pandemic in the state.
Among the factors before the court are that students in Covid containment zones will not be able to step out, and that students from other states will be writing the exam.
According to the current SOPs, people in containment zones are not supposed to step out. In Bengaluru alone, there are thousands of containment zones.
The HC, which is hearing a PIL by advocate SP Pradeep Kumar and S Hanumanthe Gowda, has asked the government to reply by 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
