BENGALURU:
KSRTC is planning to launch a taxi service on the lines of Uber, according to Transport Minister Laxman Savadi. He was speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Another new service, ‘Namma Courier’, will soon be launched. The tender process for the service is completed. It is expected to generate an annual revenue of Rs 100 crore for the Transport Department.
Savadi, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, said, “The 4 transport corporations purchase spare equipment worth Rs 800-900 crore annually. Centralized accounting measures are being implemented to control the money flow. The software will be from ISRO.”
He added, “The High Security Registration Plates system is being implemented as per Central guidelines. Road safety is being enhanced with the implementation of the speed governor plan.”
