Janardhan Reddy and Sriramulu Reunite in BJP as Factional Turmoil Mounts Over Vijayendra’s Leadership

Date:

Bengaluru/Koppal: In a significant political development for Karnataka BJP, former allies Janardhan Reddy and B Sriramulu, once distanced by political ego and rivalry, reunited publicly during the party’s organizational meeting in Gangavati, Koppal. The reunion was symbolically marked by BJP state president B Y Vijayendra lifting both their hands, signaling a renewed unity.

Janardhan Reddy, emphasizing their strong personal bond, remarked, “Ours is a friendship worth dying for.” Echoing the sentiment, Sriramulu called for complete unity among party leaders. The moment, filled with emotional gestures and cheers from cadres, is being seen as BJP’s tactical move to consolidate support in Kalyana Karnataka, where both leaders hold influence.

Sources confirmed that Sriramulu had reserved the seat next to Reddy, a visual indicator of the mended relationship. Party insiders suggest that the BJP had planned this reunion in advance to project cohesion amid growing internal dissent.

Janardhan Reddy and Sriramulu Reunite in BJP as Factional Turmoil Mounts Over Vijayendra's Leadership

While one side of the BJP witnessed emotional reconciliation, the factional war over Vijayendra’s leadership continued to escalate. The rebel group opposing Vijayendra has planned a visit to Delhi next week, mirroring a similar trip by Vijayendra loyalists who recently lodged complaints against the dissident camp.

The rebel camp, reportedly including senior leaders like Ramesh Jarkiholi, Aravind Limbavali, Kumar Bangarappa, GM Siddeshwara, and BP Harish, aims to urge the high command to replace Vijayendra as the state president. They are also preparing to submit a report on the alleged misuse of illegal Bangladeshi immigrant data by Vijayendra’s camp.

Earlier, Renukacharya’s team had already met BJP disciplinary committee chief Om Pathak in Delhi, filing complaints regarding parallel group meetings in Davanagere.

The delegation is expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, possibly during the Parliament session starting tomorrow, to press for change.

As BJP braces for a decision on its state leadership, signs of resolution between warring factions remain elusive. Until a new state president is officially announced, the internal power struggle within Karnataka BJP shows no signs of subsiding.
