Khanna was picked up from New Delhi on Friday by a CCB team from Bengaluru, which obtained his police custody for 4 days. He is the first person to be arrested outside Karnataka, and is considered a kingpin in the drug mafia’s operations.

Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi, her friend, RTO clerk Ravishankar,  and Sandalwood actress Sanjana Galrani’s friend Rahul Shetty are also in police custody.

A techie, Viren Khanna has a ‘reputation’ for organising big parties. He hails from Bengaluru but was in hiding in Delhi.  He was all set to host a party in Bengaluru on Saturday — sitting at Delhi’s Mathura Road (see the below picture). Such parties are attended only by celebrities, said a cop on condition of anonymity.
