Covid test mandatory for Dasara participants

Only 2,000 allowed to watch jamboo savari

MYSURU:

The state government has made Covid tests mandatory for performers participating in the Dasara celebrations here.

On Sunday, district in-charge minister ST Somashekhar said that five days before the Dasara festival, only performers who test negative will be allowed to participate.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Somashekhar said that this time the nada habba Dasara will be celebrated in simple manner. No more than 2,000 people will be allowed to watch the Jamboo Savari and no more than 250 will be allowed to attend the inaugural ceremony at Chamundi Hills. Only 1,000 people will be allowed to attend the palace cultural events.
