Bengaluru | Tragic Incident Claims Lives of Mother and Child in Electrocution Mishap

In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded early this morning near Hope Farm under Kadugudi Police Station, a mother and her child were tragically burned alive after inadvertently stepping on a broken electric wire strewn across the footpath.

The victims have been identified as Soundarya and her daughter Leela, residents of Gopalan Colony, Hope Farm Circle. Soundarya and Leela had recently returned from Tamil Nadu and arrived in Bengaluru via bus at approximately 5:30 am today. Tragically, the accident occurred as they were making their way home, walking along the footpath.

Despite the electric wire being severed and lying on the road, the power supply remained uninterrupted. Unaware of the lurking danger, the mother and daughter inadvertently stepped on the live wire, resulting in immediate and fatal burns.

Allegations of negligence have been leveled against BESCOM officials in connection with this incident.

Firefighters and Kadugudi police are currently on-site, conducting investigations and assessing the situation.
