BENGALURU:

BBMP has organized another ‘Lasika Mela’ (vaccination drive) on Friday for Bengalureans who have not yet been inoculated against Covid-19.

In a meeting with zonal health officers, Special Commissioner (Health) Dr K V Thrilok Chandra said 86% of people in the city had been given the first dose and 52% had got the second dose. To step up the pace of vaccination, block level and lane level inoculation is being taken up, he said.

Focus on slum dwellers, vendors

BBMP gears up for Friday’s vaccination drive

Chandra said the focus would be on slum dwellers, street vendors, industrial workers and construction workers, and vaccination sites would be set up at marketplaces, bus stations and railway stations. He urged traders’ associations and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to work with BBMP for the success of the vaccination drive.

The preparatory meeting was attended by Chief Health Officer Dr Vijendra, zonal health officers, medical officers and other officials.
