Co-accused Ravi Shankar and Viren sent to jail for 14 days
BENGALURU:
Drug case accused actress Sanjana Galrani was remanded to 2 days in judicial custody by the 1st ACCM court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, co-accused Ravi Shankar and Viren Khanna were remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody by the City Civil Court (CCH-3).
Based on information provided by Sanjana’s aide Rahul, the CCB police had raided her residence on September 8 and taken her into custody. Sanjana tested negative for Covid on Monday, and retested negative on Wednesday before appearing by video conference in front of the court.
She will have to file for bail before the special NDPS court in Bengalure. Till then, she will be in Parapanna Agrahara jail.
On September 14, when actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjana were produced before the court, both were sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The CCB police then appealed to the court to permit police custody of Sanjana for 3 days. On Wednesday, the CCB did not ask for Sanjana’s further police custody.
